General Rules:
Players start with 100 money by default. Roles may change this.
Each player will have a Role. You may discuss the function of your Role, but you may not discuss the specific name of your Role, or quote your Role PM verbatim.
Bidding Phase:
- During the Bidding phase, players may post in their group chat, but only to bid on Items.
- Bids should be of the form Bid: [item], [number], where [item] is the name of an Item on offer and [number] is the amount of money you are bidding on that Item. For example, Bid: Cheese Sandwich, 5.
- You may only bid money that you currently have.
- You must bid a whole number that is strictly greater than the current highest bid for a given Item.
- Bids are binding and may not be taken back.
- At the end of the night, each Item is given to the player who bid the highest amount of money for that Item. The amount of money that they bid is simultaneously spent for the item.
Items have names and effects. While on offer, only the name is revealed. You learn the effects of any Items that you own immediately upon coming into possession of them. There are other means of learning the effects of Items.
During the Day, 5 Items are shown and all living players may bid on them. Bidding follows the same rules as during the night, and may be included in any message in the main thread. Bids should not be contained within spoilers, as they should be easily visible to everyone. At the end of the day, Items are given out at the same time that a player is voted out.
During the Day, players may vote to eliminate other players by writing Vote: [playername] in any message in the main thread, for example, Vote: Lucifer. Votes should not be contained within spoilers, as they should be easily visible to everyone.
If at any point a player has strictly more than 50% of players’ votes on them, the Day ends and that player dies. If this does not occur, then at the end of the day, when time runs out, a player with the most votes on them will die. In the case of multiple players being tied for the most votes, I will put their names in a list alphabetically, assign each a number based on their position and roll a random number in that range using Random.org. The unfortunate player whose number comes up dies. The Day then ends. This is true even if all players are tied at 0 votes.
If you have voted for someone and would now like your vote to not count towards anyone, write Unvote: [playername], where [playername] is the name of the player you are currently voting for.
Players may take up to one Day Action each Day. No items or roles affect this. Day Actions are granted by Items or Roles.
Items grant one of 3 things:
Passive abilities: These effects are ongoing, and do not require their owners to do anything to get their effects. They might have an effect that triggers automatically when a certain condition is met, or be a permanent alteration to the base rules of the game for that player e.g. Passive: You may take an extra Action each Action phase.
Actions: Actions are taken at Night, during the Action phase. You may not use the same Action multiple times in one Night. Some actions require you to Visit other players of your choice in order to have any effect. Actions may have a limited number of uses e.g. Action (2 uses): Visit another player. They die.
Day Actions are taken at any point during the Day. The Day Action will specify how it is activated, i.e. publicly or privately. Day Actions take effect immediately upon being activated. Some Day Actions require you to Visit other players of your choice in order to have any effect. You may not use the same Day Action multiple times in one Day. Day Actions may have a limited number of uses e.g. Day Action (1 use): Visit another player. They die.
Items may be donated. To donate an item, tell a mod that you would like to donate a specific item to a specific other player. The mod will then tell that player that they are being offered an Item, and which player is offering it. If they accept, they receive the item, and the donor no longer owns that item and loses any Actions, Day Actions or Passives it granted them. If they decline, the item stays with its would-be donor.
Some Items are Cursed. These will always be denoted by having (Cursed) written at the end of their names. Cursed Items may have some kind of negative Passive, but usually also some kind of positive effect. Cursed Items may not be donated.
The game will start with a Night, but this Night will not have an Action phase, only Bidding.
Players start with 100 money by default. Roles may change this.
Each player will have a Role. You may discuss the function of your Role, but you may not discuss the specific name of your Role, or quote your Role PM verbatim.
Each Night, living players are divided up into small groups. Each group is put in a group chat together and shown 3 Items, randomly selected from a larger pool of Items. They may not talk in the group chat. There is then an Action phase and a Bidding phase.
Action Phase:
- During the Action phase players tell the mods what, if any, Actions they are taking. All Actions are then carried out simultaneously at the end of the Action phase.
- Players can only take Actions that they have gained from some source. Actions are granted by Factions, Roles or Items.
- Players may take up to one Action each Night by default. Items or Roles may change this.
